Horse Racing API FAQs
Can I connect an AI assistant to the racing feeds?
Yes. Enterprise includes a read-only MCP server for compatible AI clients. Use Dashboard → Connect AI and the guide at /docs/mcp. Connect through explicit OAuth consent or an API-key header in supported developer clients. MCP feed calls share Enterprise's 10 requests per second and unlimited monthly requests. Developer and Professional include REST feeds but not MCP. Client availability and separate AI-provider fees depend on the chosen AI service.
How does the seven-day trial work?
Eligible new customers receive one seven-day trial after completing the secure on-site checkout with a card. Signing up alone does not start a trial. Your chosen monthly plan renews automatically unless cancelled before the exact trial end shown in your dashboard. Manage your subscription, cards and invoices directly under Subscriptions in your account. If the site displays test mode, only test cards are accepted and no real payments are taken.
Are racing feeds live already?
UK and Irish core feeds are connected. API access requires an active subscription, a confirmed trial or an explicit, unexpired administrator approval. Enterprise also includes live AI-assisted tips with saved explanations. Portraits, full career statistics and win-probability prediction feeds are not activated. See Coverage for historical limitations.
Which countries are covered?
UK and Ireland only, through the combined region=uk feed. Irish meetings are included in that feed rather than a separate Ireland region code. Requests for any other regional feed are rejected with HTTP 422.
Do customers receive the provider API key?
No. Customers create their own RacingAPI.net keys. Provider credentials stay on our server. Customer keys are stored as hashes and displayed in plaintext only when created or rotated.
Is VAT added to the price?
No. RacingAPI.net is not VAT registered and does not add VAT. Monthly plans are Developer £29, Professional £79 and Enterprise £99.99.
Can I get jockey photographs and career statistics?
Racing silks and jockey/trainer connections are evidenced in existing feeds. Portrait photographs and comprehensive career-statistics feeds are not yet verified and are not sold as available features.
What happens if I exceed my limit?
Requests above your per-second limit or monthly quota receive HTTP 429 with Retry-After. Limits apply across all your keys. Suspended accounts and accounts without active subscription, confirmed trial or administrator-approved access cannot access feeds. Monthly usage resets on the first day of each calendar month in UTC; changing plans does not reset usage.
