Terms of Service
The terms on which RacingAPI.net provides its racing data API and developer portal.
1. The service and these terms
RacingAPI.net provides a developer portal and a horse racing data API. These terms apply to access to our website, accounts, documentation and API. The applicable plan, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Data Licensing terms form part of the conditions of use.
Coverage is limited to the UK and Ireland. The availability of individual fields, bookmaker prices, images and historical records depends on the feed and may change; a listed endpoint does not guarantee that every race has every field.
2. Accounts and API keys
Accounts are individual and may not be shared with other developers. Each developer must maintain their own account and must not share sign-in credentials, sessions or API keys with another developer.
Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials and API keys confidential. You are responsible for activity using your account and keys. Do not publish keys in client-side code or share them with other developers or organisations. Contact us promptly if you think a key or account has been compromised.
An account alone does not grant API access. Access requires an active paid subscription, a confirmed trial, or a separate time-limited approval from us. All keys associated with an account share its usage limits.
2A. Resale and redistribution are forbidden
You must not resell, sublicense, rent, lease, transfer or otherwise supply access to the RacingAPI.net API to any third party. This prohibition includes sharing API keys, proxying our endpoints for third-party access, white-labelling or repackaging our API as another feed, and selling or redistributing raw responses, bulk datasets or standalone image feeds. No subscription tier, including Enterprise, grants resale or sublicensing rights.
You may use the API to power your own website, application or internal tools and display racing information to your end users in accordance with your plan. This does not permit those users to obtain onward API access or a substitute data feed. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of this restriction, subject to applicable law.
3. Plans, trials and payment
Current monthly plan prices and request allowances are shown on the pricing page. Eligible first-time customers can start one seven-day trial by completing the secure on-site checkout with a card; signing up alone does not start a trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the chosen plan starts billing automatically. Paid subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. The exact renewal or trial end date is shown under Subscriptions in your account.
Manage or cancel your subscription, update your card and download invoices directly on RacingAPI.net under Subscriptions. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access normally continues until the end of the current paid period or trial. A plan switch during a trial applies immediately without extending the trial; after a trial it applies at the next renewal, with no immediate charge or proration. We do not add VAT because RacingAPI.net is not VAT registered. If checkout is marked as test mode, no real payment is taken.
4. Fair use and licensing
Use the API within the rate and monthly limits of your plan. The Acceptable Use Policy explains prohibited activity, and the Data Licensing page explains what you may do with the racing data and images. Neither a subscription nor possession of an API key transfers ownership of the underlying data or images.
5. Changes, interruptions and suspension
We may change feeds, correct data, disable an endpoint or suspend an account to address security, misuse, supplier restrictions or legal obligations. Where practical we will give notice of material changes. The API may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. No guaranteed uptime or response time applies unless expressly agreed in writing.
5A. MCP access for AI clients
The MCP server is available only to Enterprise accounts with active API access. It provides read-only racing data (scope racing:read) to an AI client you choose to authorise; it cannot access your account, keys or billing. Tool calls count towards your Enterprise rate limit and are subject to these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Data Licensing terms.
You are responsible for the AI clients you connect. Their costs, terms and data handling are separate from ours, and the selected client receives the racing data it retrieves. Client compatibility can change and your client plan or organisation settings may restrict connections. Access stops when you revoke the connection or its key, or when your account is no longer Enterprise. MCP responses are retrieved data, not predictions or guarantees of outcome.
6. Accuracy and responsibility
Racing data can be delayed, incomplete or corrected after publication. Check the response and its timestamps before using it in your product. RacingAPI.net is a data provider, not a bookmaker; it does not offer bets or guarantee outcomes. You are responsible for how you use the data, including any rules that apply to your own product.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits rights you have under applicable law. Any other limits on liability must be considered in light of the applicable agreement and law.
7. Questions and disputes
For account, billing or data questions, email support@racingapi.net. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you.
